More on Play
The play section of each Q&A educational product is designed to challenge and extend a child’s mathematical thinking skills. Play scaffolds children as they experiment and explore different math concepts through a range of puzzles and games that build on the mathematical concepts in the learn section.
Challenging Mathematical Thinking
The scaffolded games and puzzles challenge the child’s mathematical thinking and problem solving skills in a non-threatening riskless learning environment that provides instant feedback on every action or decision the child chooses to make.
Scaffolded Learning
The scaffolding approach in play gives children opportunities to practise what they have learnt in a ‘risk-free’ environment. The play stage provides children with many opportunities to explore and experiment with the relevant math concept.
Through trial and error, problem solving and active engagement with completing specific tasks, children independently develop their knowledge and deeper understanding, all the while enabling them to confidently apply each math concept. Ultimately this empowers children to work unsupported through the check section.
