About

At Game2Learn, our objective is to offer educational products and learning experiences that build on a child’s current understanding. By providing children with many opportunities to continually and progressively build on what they know, new concepts become more relevant as information becomes their own knowledge.

Our background

With more than 40 years in the education field, including over 20 years in early childhood education and more than a decade in digital learning design, the team at Game2Learn have extensive combined experience in creating effective and engaging educational experiences for a variety of topics, learners and learning styles (including State and National learning initiatives). This broad experience and our tertiary qualifications in education have shaped both the educational design and the learning effectiveness of Game2Learn educational products.

Our conviction

At Game2Learn we use a 21st century adaptation of the constructivist approach to learning rather than more passive traditional 20th century teaching practices. The Game2Learn approach encourages children to actively construct their own understanding in relevant and meaningful ways.  This contrasts with the traditional ‘jug to mug’ approach of the ‘standardised industrial model’ of education where every child is expected to reach the same level of understanding, at the same point in time, using the same (often single) teaching exercise.

In short, Game2Learn educational products are strongly focused on the child’s individual learning needs, not standardised teaching and testing. Our aim is to provide learning experiences that encourage children to experiment with new information in a variety of contexts. Through the range of experiences that this approach provides, children actively create the meaningful connections they need to turn abstract information into their own tangible knowledge.  It is our view that…

The true measure (and value) of learning is being able to apply new knowledge to complete similar tasks in a range of differing contexts or situations… not just successfully completing a single one-off task or examination type question.
